KITCHEN & BATHROOM DESIGN
Kitchen and bathroom design is a unique sub-category of architectural design. For most large remodeling projects, the kitchen and master bathroom are the rooms most important to the client and require the greatest attention to detail. A building permit is often not required, unless you’re removing or adding a load-bearing wall. However, drawings still play a vital role in giving the client a clear picture of what the finished room will look like. With dimensions included, the plans also serve as working drawings for whoever is building the cabinetry, whether it be a general contractor, finish carpenter or cabinet maker.

Most kitchen and bathroom designs start with a floor plan. Here is a typical kitchen floor plan:

Once the floor plan is complete, elevations (i.e., head-on views) of the different walls are drawn:
